Velvet! Velvet! Velvet! It's all the craze. To be honest, I was pretty hesitant with this new trend... kinda like how they're trying to bring back corduroy - like why? Buut, after I put my negative opinions aside I realized, I AM ALL FOR IT!!! It is such a fun and fashion-forward fabric that is so versatile, you can make it part of almost any outfit. Velvet will take your look to another level, whether it be edgy or a perfect pop of texture with a simple top or vice versa. For me, I styled around my skirt because I really wanted it to be the star of the outfit. The burnt orange color is to die for and I didn't want to take away from that depth at all. I was originally going to go with a black top but I sat there and had a legit 10 minute conversation with myself as to why I need to step away from always resorting to black when I'm in doubt... So, what better color to go to than cream! Haha. Listen guys, I am really trying to get out there and explore new colors but it's a life long journey, bare with me. Anywayyy, this little cream top was like the missing puzzle piece, it's the perfect length with just the right amount of detail at the sleeves and the bottom. It's the simple things like that top that give me true joy, because I can wear it forever and never get sick of it. BUT I'M NOT DONE YET! Being the extra girl I am I decided ya know what lets add some lace up in here to tie it all together. Lucky for me I found this lace bralette I had for like 5 years shoved in a drawer. The light hit it perfectly and I think I even shed a tear, I just it love when things work out exactly how I see it in my head. I slip on my go-to black booties, contemplated changing them for a second then laughed cause that was truly a ludicrous thought. As for my jewelry, I wore a delicate gold necklace, dangly hoops and of course a million and one rings. I love to accessorize, the desired amount just depends on how I'm feeling when I get ready. But, just know, there is no such thing as "too much jewelry". I love how this look came together and how well the colors contrasted with each other.
